Train connections to Graz can be found via the Austrian Federal Railways Website www.oebb.at Please consider these possibilities to travel to the event in an environmentally friendly way!

The maps below show the day and night train connections to Graz. The first map depicts all day trains with a travelling time under 12 hours. The second map shows all the night trains to and from Graz and Vienna.

The easiest way getting from the mainstation to the conference venue is by taking the tram lines 1, 6 or 7 to the station Südtiroler Platz/ Kunsthaus. From there, please turn first left and then right and go along the Mur, pass Hotel Wiesler, and another 70 metres to the hotel „Das Weitzer“.

Travel by plane

The airport of Graz (‘Graz Thalerhof‘) can be reached by direct flights from several destinations.To get more information about direct flight connections to Graz please click here.

The airport shuttle service runs by Gazer Verkehrsbetriebe from the airport directly to your hotel. More information: www.flughafen-graz.at (‘Taxi & Shuttle‘).

You do have the possibility as well to take the train (S-Bahn) from ‘Flughafen Graz-Feldkirchen‘ to the Central Station.

City of Graz

Graz – the capital of Styria and the second-largest city in Austria – is located in the southeast of Austria, with a long tradition of culture, science and a long tradition as seat of universities.

In 2003 Graz was the European Capital of Culture and is now part oft he UNESCO World Cultural Heritage because of its architecture. Graz’s old town around the Schlossberg (with its Uhrturm, the landmark of the city) has for centuries created a cityscape characterized by different styles (gothic, baroque, renaissance, art nouveau and modernity) and is characterized by its unique roof landscape.

The city is compact so that the most important sights are within walking distance from the main square (“Hauptplatz”).

The best way to explore Graz is by foot, however the excellent public transport network in and around Graz allows you to be completely flexible.
